Some people love the idea of hummus but aren't crazy about garbanzo beans, so we came up with a recipe for hummus that uses Great Northern Beans instead. Now, you may call this bean dip, but we're calling it our Great Northern Bean and Cilantro Lime Hummus. And it's delicious!

2 Tablespoons of water
Juice of 2 limes
1 15-ounce can organic Great Northern Beans, drained and rinsed
3 Tablespoons sesame tahini
6 garlic cloves
1/4 cup white onion
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
chopped fresh cilantro, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil for garnish (optional)

Combine everything in a food processor in the order listed above, and blend until the mixture is smooth—about 2 to 3 minutes.

Spoon the mixture into a pretty dish and garnish as desired. Serve with pita bread or chips.
