Getting some turmeric in your diet has proven medicinal benefits and people are loving it, rightfully so. It reduces inflammation in the body and is linked with better brain function while lowering your risk for heart disease. There's a lot to be excited about regarding turmeric, including its intense, earthy-sweet flavor.
Enjoying a cup of this tea has become one of our nighttime rituals. Oh, did we mention it also helps with sleep? Mmm-Hmm.
16-ounces of almond (or other non-dairy) milk
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric, or 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric, grated
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger, or 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Whisk together the milk, turmeric, and ginger in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture almost to a bubble, remove the pan from the heat and strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve.
Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine.
Now, grab a good book, snuggle into your favorite divan, put your feet up, and enjoy a beautiful relaxing moment - or two.
