Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It sets the stage for how well your body functions throughout it. So treat yourself to something delicious and nutritious like this Banana Walnut Oatmeal. It is the best thing you can do to start the day out right!

2 cups of water
pinch of salt
1 cup quick oats
1 banana (mashed)
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. maple syrup

In a medium saucepan, bring the water and salt to a boil. Add the oats and stir until the mixture begins to boil again. Stir in the banana and chopped nuts, and reduce heat to medium-low. Continue to cook, often stirring for 3 to 5 minutes more. Stir in the cinnamon and maple syrup, and remove from heat. Add a few slices of banana, a sprinkling of chopped nuts to each serving, and enjoy immediately.

Serves 2

Refrigerate any leftovers for up to 3 days.
