Sweetened condensed milk has been a staple in kitchens since around the 13th century and is loved by home cooks, bakers, and top chefs alike. And it's no wonder because it's like magic when added to recipes. And now, it's like vegan magic!

2 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups almond milk
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Combine the cornstarch and sugar in a large saucepan. Whisk in the milk and vanilla, and slowly bring it to a simmer, whisking often.

Let simmer, occasionally stirring for 45 to 50 minutes or until mixture has been reduced by about half (2 cups).

Allow the mixture to cool before using or refrigerating.

This recipe can be made up to 2 days in advance.
